Research & Context
This artifact was created as part of an academic assignment for the PG Diploma in Interaction Design (PGD IxD) at IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. The objective was to design a comprehensive user persona grounded in qualitative research. To achieve this, I conducted in-depth interviews with four venue operators—including restaurant, pub, and bar managers—to examine the role music plays in their establishments and understand how they manage customer music requests on-site.
Based on these research insights, I developed the persona of a "Club Manager," synthesizing common behaviors, goals, and pain points into a cohesive user profile.
The Rap Video Experiment
To bring this persona to life, I conceptualized and produced a rap-style music video featuring a self-narrated timeline of a typical day in the life of a Club Manager. The video dynamically illustrates his core motivations, daily frustrations, professional goals, and the unique challenges he faces everyday at work.
This project was a creative experiment—aiming to present a user persona as an engaging, memorable story rather than a static document, helping viewers empathize with the user's context in a much more impactful way.
